Pursuing window or door replacement is not just a big investment. It can be quite intimidating, especially if you are tackling it for the first time. It is a home improvement project you’re, hopefully, going to do only once, after all. Preparing your home is one of the most crucial things you can do to ensure the success of the project.
Renewal by Andersen® of San Diego, your local source of windows and patio doors, discusses how to do so.
Prior to Installation Day
Window or door replacement can be quite a mess, but it becomes less of a headache if you consider making preparations inside and outside your home days before installation day. You can start by removing picture frames off the walls and moving furniture away from windows or doors being replaced.
For easy entry and exit during installation day, you may remove any obstructions from the pathways leading to the potential work area. Doing this allows our installers to bring in the new windows or hinged French doors, and take away your current ones for disposal. Secure any valuables that may come loose because of vibrations. Relocate pets away from the work area as well.
Before and After the Actual Installation Process
Once we arrive, expect us to start laying down mats, drop cloths and runners to protect the areas of the home involved. We create an outside shelter to protect the worksite against inclement weather. Only one window may be installed at a time to reduce exposure to outdoor elements.
We also make it a point to bring trash cans and vacuums on site. Before calling it a day, we dispose of the old window or door units, and clean everything up. We’ll even help you return the furniture and other valuables to their original place. We treat your home as if it were our own.
At Renewal by Andersen of San Diego, we take pride in our award-winning installation process. Our team will take the necessary steps to ensure we are fully prepared to complete your project in a timely and on-budget manner, to your full satisfaction.
